One dead as truck plunges into rivulet in Dhading

MALEKHU, DHADING: A person died after a truck fell into a rivulet at Khayarghari of Thakre in Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway today.

The truck (Na 5 Kha 8399) heading to Bhairahawa from Kathmandu plunged into Maheshkhola, killing the truck's helper Bhim Nepal (20), according to Police Inspector Krishna Prasad Sapkota at the District Traffic Police Office, Gajuri.

The truck driver has sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, a labourer working for the road maintenance has died after a tractor (Bhe 1 ta 4723) hit him at Tediya of Belauri Municipality in Kanchanpur district today.

The deceased has been identified as Basanta Dhungana of Devdaha Municipality-2 in Rupandehi district.

Dhungana breathed his last on the way to a primary health care centre, DSP Gyan Bahadur Seti said.

It has been learnt that the tractor was being used in the construction works.
