It has come to light that a family has been operating a school on paper with tax payers' money at Rautahat headquarters Gaur for the past 15 years.
Gaur Municipality has initiated action against a primary school located at Bagaicha of Ward No 6, Gaur Municipality.
Established in 2006, the school has Rameswor Yadav as school management committee chairman, Yadav's daughter-inlaw Sabitri Yadav is head teacher, another daughter-in-law Jayamala Yadav and Yadav's granddaughter Nikki Yadav are teachers and Rameswor's son Ashok Yadav is an office assistant. The head teacher is the office assistant's wife.
For the past 15 years, the Yadav family has been receiving all the facilities from the government due to political connections.
Th school is supposed to run classes from Grade I to VI.
But, twenty-four students are kept in a classroom and taught.
A monitoring team led by Mayor Shambhu Yadav visited the school and brought out the truth. The municipality had sought clarification on lack of facilities at the school. The head teacher had not given the clarification, though, according to Mayor Yadav.
Mayor Yadav said that Rameswor Yadav had donated two kathha land to the school and hired family members at the school and had been misusing state fund.
Mayor Yadav pledged to punish schools on paper and manage community schools inside the municipal vicinity.
