One held for rape made public

Police today organised a press meet at District Police Office, Chitwan and made public a person accused of raping a 12-year-old girl.
The arrested has been identified as Rajan BK, 27, of Bharatpur metropolis.
According to SP Sushil Singh Rathaur at DPO, the girl was raped in the metropolis on November 10.
SP Rathaur said a police team had arrested the accused from India’s Gunagaun on November 17.
The police team was able to nab the accused by tracking the mobile used by BK, said police. SP Rathaur added that the accused had spent a night in Bardaghat, Nawalparasi; one night in Butwal, Rupandehi; and reached Gunagaun, India. Police said the accused had fled to India along with his wife.
A case was filed against the accused one day after the incident saying that BK had taken the minor to a deserted area on his motorbike and raped her there on November 10 at around 7:30pm. BK was remanded to seven-day custody by Chitwan District Court for further investigation.
