One person was killed and 14 others injured when the microbus they were traveling in plunged off the road at Kantar, Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha, this morning.
The accident occurred at around 11:25 am when the electric microbus, marked as "Untested" and returning from Manakamana Temple, lost control on the gravel road and fell approximately 15 meters down a slope.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Padam Bahadur Darji from Tandi Parsa, Khairahani Rural Municipality-2, Chitwan. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Aanbukhaireni Hospital.
The injured include Harikala Pariyar (50), Geeta Pariyar (29), Ritesh Pariyar (10), Sandhya Pariyar (13), Rupa Pariyar (25), Sanchita Ale (20), Pramila Rana (35), Bimala Pariyar (43), Raju Pariyar (31), Suvana Pariyar (18), Abhishek Pariyar (21), Anisa Pariyar (26), and Arjun Pariyar (36). All injured victims are residents of the same area and are currently receiving treatment at Aanbukhaireni Hospital.
The cause of the accident has yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
