PANCHTHAR: A person died and four others sustained injuries when a tractor skidded off the road in Phidim Municipality-14 of Panchthar on Saturday night.

According to Panchthar District Police Office (DPO), the deceased has been identified as a tractor driver, Avinash Rai (18) of Phidim-14. Deceased Rai died on the spot, added Panchthar DPO.

The tractor (Me 1 ta 5781), en route to Lungrupa from Bhalukhop,  lost control and fell some 25 metres below the road in Bhalukhop at around 11:00 pm, killing one on the spot and injuring four.

Injured have been sent to Panchtar-based health facilities for treatment, informed Panchthar DPO.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway.
