NAWALPUR: A person died after being crushed by a tractor in Bulingtar Rural Municipality-2 of East Nawalparasi on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as local Bhetan Bahadur Pulami Magar (29).

According to police, tractor driver Bishnu Hari Kumal of Bulingtar Rural Municipality-3, under the influence of alcohol attempted to start the tractor (Lu 3 Ta 6904) and the thresher attached to it, when the tractor tilted to the side and crushed Pulami standing nearby.

Pulami was the Chairperson of Gorakhnath Primary School Management Committee at Dandajheri.

The body has been sent to District Police Office for postmortem and other procedures, informed Chairperson Shashi Karan Bastakoti, Chairperson of Bulingtar Rural Municipality.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle, thresher machine and detained the driver for further investigation.
