One killed, one injured in separate road accidents in Tanahun
DAMAULI: A man who was receiving treatment after sustaining injuries from a motorcycle-hit died in a hospital in Tanahun district on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Brataraj Khanal (76) of Byas Municipality-5, in the district.
According to the Tanahun District Police Office (DPO), by a motorcycle (Ga 14 Pa 5967) rammed Khanal leaving him injured near Madi Bridge, on Thursday afternoon.
Critically injured Khanal was rushed to Pokhara-based Metro City Hospital where he breathed his last during the course of treatment on Friday, informed police.
Meanwhile, police have detained the bike rider for further investigation into the incident.
In a separate incident, a woman was injured after she was knocked by a microbus in GhansiKuwa area of Byas Municipality-12 in Tanahun district, on Friday night.
The injured has been identified as Sonam Bammu (52) of Chhonhup area in Lomanthang Rural Municipality-3 of Mustang district.
According to the DPO, Bammu was hit by a microbus (Ba 3 Kha 8754) while she was returning to the vehicle she was travelling on, after peeing by the roadside.
Bammu was referred to Pokhara Gandaki Hospital after she received primary treatment at Damauli-based Ratna Hari hospital, police informed.
It has been reported that Bammu was travelling by the microbus (Na 6 Kha 5439) en route from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Meanwhile, the diver of the microbus involved in knocking the woman has been detained for the investigation into the incident, police said.
