TANAHUN: A person was killed and seven others injured in a road mishap at Vyas Municipality-14 in Tanahun district today.

The deceased has been identified as Dan Bahadur Thakuri (50) of Devghat Rural Municipality-2, informed police.

The accident took place when a bus (Ga 1 Kha 3701) heading towards Damauli from Saranghat of Tanahu fell some 20 metres off the road.

Similarly, seven persons were injured in the incident. Of them, condition of three — Chudamani Gharti (16) and Nar Bahadur Roka (30) of Tribeni Rural Municipality-5 in Salyan district, and Dil Maya Ale (25) of Shukla Gandaki Municipality-10 in Tanahun district — is critical and they have been referred to Pokhara-based Manipal Hospital from Damauli Hospital.

Others, who received minor injuries, have been receiving treatment at Damauli Hospital. Police have arrested the bus driver and started investigation into the case.
