CHITWAN: The death toll from the road accident at Phishling of Darechok VDC, Chitwan, along the Prithivi Highway on Sunday, reached two on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Gangaman Gurung, 78 and Aash Bahadur Gurung, 40, of Kawasoti Municipality, Nawalparasi.

According to District Police Office, Chitwan, Gangaman took his last breath while being rushed to Bharatpur Hospital, while Aash Bahadur breathed his last in course of treatment in Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.

As many as 19 persons injured in the accident have been receiving treatment in the same hospital.

Of the injured, condition of five is still said to be critical. Hospital sources said, 10 injured passengers returned home after treatment.

Police said that the accident had occurred while a microbus, which was heading for Kathmandu from Darechowk, collided with a bus coming from the opposite direction.
