PARSA: A person died in an elephant attack in Nirmal Basti VDC of Parsa district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Roghai Chaudhary (45) of Sikaribas, Nirmal Basti-4 in the district.

The elephant inhabiting the Parsa Wildlife Reserve had attacked Chaudhary while he was out to keep a vigil in the mustard field last night, according to police.

The body of Chaudhary, who had died on the spot, has been brought to Birgunj-based Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital for postmortem, the District Police Office informed.

Folks of Thori and Nirmal Basti among other VDCs located in the vicinity of the Parsa Wildlife Reserve are often attacked by the wild animals inhabiting the reserve.
