Siraha, July 4

One person died due to diarrhoea at Sitapur in Laxmipur Patari Rural Municipality, Siraha, yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Gundri Devi  Yadav, 65, of the rural municipality. Police said that a seriously ill  Yadav took her last breath while her family members were preparing to take her to a  health facility.

Diarrhoea has affected the area for the last two weeks.

Earlier, Magen Yadav, 70, of the rural municipality also lost his life due to diarrhoea. As many as 25 diarrhoea patients are receiving treatment in Sitapur Health Post.

Dr Chuman Lal Das at Siraha Public Health Office said that severely ill patients were being treated under the direct observation of doctors. He said that he had been referring patients to the district hospital if their condition grew worse. He further informed that many patients were regaining their health after treatment at the health facility.
