Jhapa, August 20

An elderly person, who had been seriously injured after he was attacked  on the head with a hammer, died last evening.

Sixty-five-year-old  Prem Lakandri of Jhapa’s Mechi Nagar Municipality-9 Krishi settlement was seriously injured after a fellow villager Tej Bahadur  Limbu, 63, who was drunk, hit him on the head with a hammer on  Friday.

Lakandri died at Birtamod-based B & C Hospital in the course  of treatment. Police have arrested Tej Bahadur and said they were  yet to  find out the reason behind the fatal attack.
