Only 17 killed in Kailali: Maoists

Kailali, January 6:

The locals of Bankhet village in Kailali district are terrified following a clash between the security forces and the Maoists yesterday. Four civilians were injured in the six-hour long battle that took place at a forest in Bankhet of Masuriya VDC. Two civilians were arrested whereas three others have gone missing.

The forces today could show bodies of only 13 Maoists although they had claimed to have killed over 140 Maoists.

Maoists on the other hand claimed only 17 of their cadres died. Maoists’ Kailali secretary Utsav alleged that the forces rounded up and killed them when they were cooking food.
