Outage affects water supply schedule
Tansen,February 6:
Long load-shedding hours have affected the supply of drinking water in Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa district. The supply was affected as it was not possible to operate the pumps during power cuts.
District Water Supply Office, Palpa, said regular water supply had been affected because of disruption in power supply. The Office has been supplying water in Tansen by pumping water from springs in Sisnemul and Bhulke.
With the disruption in water supply, locals have been forced to go to stone spouts in Nishandhara, Holangdi, Sindhuredhara, Narayansthan and Tindhara to fetch drinking water.
Engineer at District Water Supply Office Rajendra Panta said only two of the four pumps in Bhulke were in operation. “We haven’t been able to supply required quantity of water as two pumps in Bhulke are under maintenance. Regular supply will resume after the maintenance of the pumps,” he added. The office has installed 33 KV and 11 KV line to pump water from Bhulke and other springs to various parts of the district.
However, chief of Nepal Electricity Authority, Palpa, Surendrahari Agrahari, said they had not disrupted power supply to drinking water projects even during load-shedding hours.
