KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 12
The Election Commission (EC) has registered more than 200,000 new voters since the announcement of the House of Representatives election, scheduled for March 5, 2026.
As of November 11, a total of 209,552 new voters have been listed - including 122,740 men, 86,785 women, and 27 others. The voter registration process, which began on September 25, will continue until November 16.
The EC has extended working hours and deployed additional staff in high-demand districts to manage the crowd. Citizens who will reach 18 years of age by March 4, 2026, are eligible to register. Prime Minister Sushila Karki has urged the youth to register and "exercise their democratic right responsibly."
