Nepal welcomed more than 500,000 foreign tourists in the first five months of 2025.
According to data from the Nepal Tourism Board, a total of 501,264 international tourists arrived in Nepal between January and May. The monthly breakdown is as follows: 79,991 in January, 96,880 in February, 121,800 in March, 116,480 in April, and 86,216 in May.
In May alone, Nepal received the highest number of tourists from India (28,160), followed by the United States (9,074), China (8,824), Bangladesh (4,280), and the United Kingdom (3,473).
Additionally, 34,350 tourists came from other Asian countries, 18,069 from unspecified other nations, 13,330 from Europe, and 1,515 from Middle Eastern countries.
The number of foreign tourists visiting Nepal in May 2025 increased by 95.6% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
