PAANCHTHAR: A sexagenarian was killed after he was attacked with a burning firewood at Nangin of Panchthar, on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Dalamu Sherpa (64) of Bhote Gaun of Nangin-8.

According to police, Dalamu was attacked by Aakash Sherpa (18) on the head with the burning firewood following a minor dispute, last night.

Sherpa, who had sustained serious injuries in the attack, died in course of treatment at his own house, added Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nakul Pokharel of the District Police Office.

Police have arrested Aakash for further investigation.
