KATHMANDU:People of Itahari municipality today formed a committee to press

the government for constructing a regional stadium in Itahari.

A meeting of political party leaders, civil society representatives and professionals held this morning also announced protest programmes. A struggle committee was formed under the coordination of civil society activist Jagadish oli. Oli said the government had tried to foil the 10-year development plan of Itahari. The committee also decided to send a delegation to Kathmandu for the purpose. Locals of Dharan and Inaruwa have also been demanding that the stadium be built in their areas.
