Parliament regulations drafting body holds meeting
KATHMANDU: The Legislature-Parliament Regulations Drafting Committee began discussions on the Regulations drafted by a sub-committee constituted by it for that purpose.
In the Committee meeting today, the lawmakers stressed holding clause-wise discussions on the draft of the Regulation and soliciting suggestions from experts.
The meeting is expected to be significant because a Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee could not be formed in absence of the Regulations. Due to this, the Parliament has been unable to forward the process to appoint 11 new justices at the Supreme Court.
Committee president Radheshyam Adhikari urged for the active participation from all the committee members since discussions are to be held on the revised draft of the Regulations for three consecutive days.
The Committee had formed an 11-member sub-committee under the coordination of UCPN-Maoist lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari.
The Committee will meet again at 11 am tomorrow.
