Parliamentary sub-panels formed
Kathmandu, September 9:
The Parliamentary Public Hearing Committee today formed two separate sub-committees to investigate into the complaints filed against those recommended for appointment in the National Human Rights Commission and the ambassadorial posts.
Parliamentarians NP Saud, Asta Laxmi Shakya, Kamala Panta, Parshuram Ramte, and Govinda Bikram Thapa are the members of the sub-committee to probe into the complaints against proposed appointment holders in the National Human Rights Commission and MPs Minendra Rijal, Mangal Siddhi Manandhar, Khimlal Devkota, Dila Ram Acharya, Nava Raj Subedi, Krishna Pratap Malla and Dilendra Prasad Badu are looking into the plaints against proposed ambassadors.
Meanwhile, issuing a joint press release, former NHRC members Sushil Pyakurel, Dr Gaurishankar Lal Das and Kapil Shrestha called the government and the parliament to appoint NHRC members at the earliest.
