KATHMANDU: An all-party delegation from Kanchanpur district in far-western Nepal on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, demanding an Ayurvedic College in the district headquarters Mahendranagar.

The delegation asked the government to allocate funds for the college in the upcoming fiscal budget, according to Prime Minister's Secretariat.

Responding in affirmative, Dahal told the delegates that Nepal Sanskrit University was willing to establish an Ayurvedic college in its land in Mahendranagar.

Prime Minister Dahal stressed on the need for technical education for the country's development.

He further acknowledged that valuable herbs could be exported to foreign markets and processed to produce medicines alongside the establishment of Ayurvedic colleges throughout the nation, according to the PM's Secretariat.

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak of Nepali Congress was also one of the delegates.
