Parties hold anti-poll rally in Bara
Bara, January 17:
Seven agitating political parties today staged a protest rally in Kalaiya calling on the public to boycott the upcoming municipal polls. Earlier, UML district secretary Achyut Mainali announced a series of protest programmes.
The joint agitation committee is scheduled to stage a protest rally on January 24, torch rally on January 25 and demonstrate black flags and banners from January 25 till February 8.
The committee said other protest programmes included a rally and burning of effigy of regression on February 1, sit-in and gherao at the Election Office on February 6, torch rally and black-out on February 7 and grand demonstration on February 8.
All these protest programmes will be centered around polling centres. Apart from these programmes, wall writings, motorcycle and cycle rallies and door-to-door programmes will be also organised, Mainali said.
A poll boycott town coordination committee has also been formed in Kalaiya.
