A report from Dharan said, Minister of Information and Communication Tanka Dhakal has said that the February 1 Royal takeover is strengthening multi-party democracy in the country.
Addressing a workshop organised on the “Significance of Royal proclamation” here today he said the King took over the government to strengthen multi-party democracy. Those who are misinterpreting the royal takeover are themselves undemocratic, he said. King’s commitment to hold municipal elections this year should be taken positively towards the sustainable development of democracy, minister Dhakal further added. The time has come when all forces should strengthen the King’s move by extending their support, he said. As long as there is terrorism in the country, there would be no future of democracy and while there was no democracy, the political parties cannot exist, he added.
