After four long years of waiting, emergency parturition service has started in Bajura's Kolti Primary Health Centre. Earlier, though Family Health Division continuously allocated budget to launch the service at the health facility for four years, it was not possible to introduce the service.
In the first case of emergency parturition service at the health facility, doctors conducted a caesarean surgery on Asmita BK this morning.
According to Budhinanda Municipality Health Co-coordinator Omma Jung Shahi, the surgery was successful and the condition of both the mother and her neonatal is normal now.
A team of doctors led by gynaecologist Dr Sonam Gurung and Medical Officer Dr Chet Bahadur Dhami had conducted the operation successfully.
According to Budhinanda Mayor Janak Kumar Bohara, introduction of the service was possible after gynaecologist Dr Gurung and OT nurse Bhagawati Rawal came to the hospital. The hospital has got 5.7 million rupees from Family Health Division and the municipality to run the service.
