Dhangadi, March 31

CPN-UML vice-chairman Bhim Rawal today said unification between the UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre would take place soon.

Talking to mediapersons at Dhangadi airport, Rawal said merger between the two parties would not happen prior to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s India visit.

Committees formed by the two parties are working in full swing and the merger will take place once they submit their report in a few days, said Rawal.

Rawal dismissed media reports that merger was stuck due to dispute over power sharing between the two parties and their leaders. “Talks are under way on power sharing between the leaders of the two parties,” he added.

On a different note, Rawal said the government would strengthen the country’s economy and unite the peoples from Tarai, hills and mountain for political stability.

He claimed that that the decisions made by the previous government had made an adverse impact on the national economy. “It will take some time to bring the situation back on track,” he added.

Minister for Drinking Water BinaMagar said her ministry’s top priority was to supply clean drinking water to every citizen in the country. She pledged to resolve the drinking water problem in Province 7.
