Party unification announcement on May 1 or 5: Maoist Centre Chair Dahal
CHITWAN: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday said that the party unification with CPN-UML could be announced on May 1 or 5.
Speaking with the mediapersons at a press meet organised by the Chitwan Chapter of Press Chautari at Bharatpur Airport, Chairman Dahal said that his and Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli's busy work schedule was the major reason behind the delay in party unification.
"There are no major issues remaining now and our focus is to conclude the unification perfectly, so we took some extra days to do the homework. Now, we will announce the unification date on April 27 and the two parties could be unified on May 1 or 5," said former Prime Minister Dahal.
In a different context, Dahal also expressed his hope of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming Nepal visit to strengthen the ties between the two nations. He also informed that the Indian PM would visit Janakpur and Muktinath during his Nepal stay.
"PM Modi has always expressed his interest in visiting Janakpur and Muktinath, so this time he will go to both of the religious sites. And there will be some other important discussions as well during his stay," added Dahal.
