Pashupati to see transparency

Kathmandu:

Donations and presents offered to Pashupatinath by devotees will be made transparent and utilised in social works as well.

The amended Pashupati Area Development Trust Act-2044 BS, which was certified by the Speaker of the House through the Act to Amend Some Nepal Acts-2063 BS, says money, donations, present, and amounts raised by regular and special puja in the Pashupatinath and the temples of Pashupati area will be made transparent. The income of the trust will be shared, as stated, in education, health, environment protection, social and welfare works.

The amended act aims to develop the Pashupati Area as international pilgrimage site for the devotees.
