Passenger bus crashes in Gulmi, at least five dead

KATHMANDU: A passenger bus met with a fatal accident at Dubichaur of Gulmi district in western Nepal on Monday.

At least least five people are confirmed dead while more than 20 others are injured, according to local journalist Janardan Ghimire, who is at the incident site.

The bus was heading to the district headquarters, Tamghas, from Butwal of Rupandehi district when it veered off the road at Dubichaur and plunged about 150 metres down.

The bus has stuck in trees on the slope, Ghimire told THT Online over phone.

The incident site is southeast of Tamghas.

Security personnel and locals are carrying out rescue operations.
