Patients using Hetauda telemedical facilities
HETAUDA: At least 20 patients have so far benefitted from the telemedicine service introduced by Hetauda Hospital.
On April 7, Hetauda Hospital was linked with Kathmandu Model Hospital by means of a polycom camera. The technology was made available by Mahabir Pun, a recipient of the prestigious Magasasay Award, on the initiative of former parliamentarian Krishna Prasad Dahal a month back. International Telecommunication Union technically supported the wireless medical link. Doctors in the hospital said they discuss prescriptions with their counterparts in KMH between 8 am and 9 am every day.
Saroj Kumar Khanal, chairman of Hospital Management Committee,said patients will get to communicate their problems directly with doctors in Model Hospital from mid-May.
