Peace matters, not process, says ex-justice

Kathmandu, November 18:

A former justice and member of the Civic Ceasefire Monitoring Committee (CCMC), Kirshna Jung Rayamajhi, has said the political parties can hold talks with the Maoists anywhere in the world as long as the restoration of peace in the country is their motive.

Speaking at a programme organised today in the capital to make a report of the CCMC public, he said: “What we need is peace, not the process to hold talks.”

The report calls on the government to compensate the families of people killed in different incidents.

“We will call on the Maoists to prolong their ceasefire and the government to declare a truce.”
