KATHMANDU: A pedestrian was killed in a road accident in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-9 of  Banke district on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as local Kul Bahadur Khatri (55).

According to police, Khatri was walking alongside the road when a bus (Na 4 Kha 6054) hit him near a botanical garden at 8:45 pm yesterday.

The critically injured Khatri was rushed to the Kohalpur-based Medical College, where he breathed his last during the course of treatment there, informed police.

Meanwhile, the Kohalpur-based Area Police Office has impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation, said police.
