SARLAHI, AUGUST 8

A 55-year-old pedestrian woman died after being hit by an Indian-registered motorcycle in Balara Municipality, Sarlahi.

According to the District Police Office, the accident occurred on Friday morning around 10:30 AM near the Ward Office of Balara Municipality-11. The motorcycle with Indian registration no. BR 30 K 4694 struck Chandadevi Baitha, who was walking in the area, leaving her critically injured.

After initial treatment at Achalgadh Hospital, she was transferred to Provincial Hospital Malangwa, where she was declared dead around noon.

The motorcycle driver, Jitendra Thakur (35), fell after the collision and was also injured. He was treated at the Provincial Hospital and later transferred under police supervision to Birgunj for further care.

Police continue to investigate the case.
