GAUSHALA: A pedestrian died after being knocked down by a tractor at Hanuman Chok of Gaushala Municipality-7 in Mahottari district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Briksha Bhagat (55) of Bharatpur VDC-4 in the district.

Bhagat had died on the spot after being hit by the tractor (Ja 1 Ta 1959), heading towards Gaushala Bazaar.

The body has been taken to the District Hospital in the district headquarters Jaleshwar for postmortem, informed police.

Police have impounded the tractor and arrested its driver Jeetendra Chaudhary(36) of Gaushala-11 for further investigation.
