Number of people leaving for Dashain increases
KATHMANDU: Many people belonging to different parts of the country are leaving the Kathmandu Valley to celebrate the Dashain festival.
Around 80,000 to 90,000 people leave the Valley on a daily basis, informed the Metropolitan Traffic Police Headquarters.
Assistant Spokesperson Rajendra Bhatta said 89,659 people had left the Valley in 8,814 vehicles in the last 24 hours.
Bhatta said, to avoid passengers from being swindled, personnel from the Transportation Management Division and the Metropolitan Traffic Headquarters have launched regular inspections.
At least 12 help desks have been set up around the Valley to help passengers travelling to their hometowns.
