Kathmandu, July 8:

A member of the Maoist talks team Dev Gurung today said people should be militarised to “resist possible military rule or any form of fascism in the nation”. “People should gradually be militarised so that they can revolt against any form of fascism and military rule if imposed on them,” he said at a workshop here today.

Gurung said giving continuity to the parliament is to extend the life of onarchy. “Conspirators are having good time to create chaos and disorder in the society during this transition period,” he said.

The two-day workshop on “Form of interim constitution and new structure of the state in constituent assembly (CA)” was jointly organised by the Tharu Students’ Society and Indigenous Tharu Legal Practitioners’ Society (ITLPS).

Speaker of the House of Representatives Subash Chandra Nemwang said the HoR has been continuously curtailing the power of autocracy since it was restored.

At the programme, president of the ITLPS Satya Mohan Joshi presented a paper on “Form of interim constitution and new structure of the state in constituent assembly (CA).”

The workshop will come up with the stance of the Tharu people on CA tomorrow.
