KHOTANG: All telecommunication services provided by the Nepal Telecom (NT) have gone dysfunctional in Solukhumbu district for last four days.

From Wednesday morning, all the NT services including landline telephone, Namaste (GSM) and Sky (CDMA) mobile services are out of function.

The problem surfaced after the power supply was affected to the NT tower in Dandakharka of Jubu village.

Along with telephone service, the internet service in the district has been disconnected, severely affecting business of local media, government and non-government organisations.

The telephone lines in Khotang, Solukhumbu and Okhaldunga districts had got disrupted at the same time on Wednesday after the rain water drenched the radio unit of the NT tower at Chitre, Udayapur.

Services in Khotang and Okhaldhunga, however, resumed after awhile.
