TAPLEJUNG: Regular power supply was disrupted in two wards of Phungling Municipality in Taplejung district for nine days.

Power supply was disrupted in wards 10 and 11 of the municipality after a turbine of Yaphre Micro Hydropower Project suffered some technical problems.

The project said that power supply was halted since June 3 following technical hassles in the turbine and it would take some more days for it to be fixed.

After the load shedding caused due to problems in the turbine, local residents said that they were forced to use kerosene lamps and have blamed poor management on part of the project for such problems.

A total of 945 households are using the electricity produced by the micro hydropower project with the capacity of 95 kilowatt.
