DAMAULI: One person died and another sustained critical injuries after a truck hit a motorcycle they were riding on at Huladi in Suklagandaki Municipality-5 of Tanahun district on Wednesday.

According to the District Police Office, Tanahun, the deceased has been identified as pillion rider Prakash Mishra (33) of Lamjung district.

The truck (Na 5 Kha 7888) heading towards Pokhara from Khairenitar hit the two-wheeler (Ga 7 Pa 3879) en route to the same direction this morning, police said.

Prakash used to work as a baidhya at the Rupkot Ayurvedic Pharmacy in Tanahun.

Bike rider Saroj Mishra is being treated at the Tanahun Sewa Hospital, Dulegaunda, police informed.

Preparations are underway to take the body of Prakash to Damauli Hospital for postmortem.

Police said that they have arrested the truck driver for investigation.
