Plot to revive Constitution ‘90: Diwakar
DANG: Unified CPN-Maoist central secretary and party chief whip in CA Post Bahadur Bogati ‘Diwakar’ today said conspiracies were being hatched to give birth to another dictator by dissolving the Constituent Assembly.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Dang chapter of Revolutionary Journalists’ Association here, Bogati said, “Conspiracies are afoot to revive the 1990 constitution by dissolving the CA and the Interim Constitution. These will, however, fail since the people will protest.” Should this happen, the achievements of the decade-long people’s war and Jana Andolan II will be lost, he added.
We have a bright future if we can move ahead by forging a consensus, the Maoist leader said. “The nation is facing instability thanks to the political parties, who are following imperialist forces rather than cooperating with each other,” he added.
Bogati expressed the party’s readiness to correct mistakes
if any. Stating that integration
of the PLA fighters was
essential for the democratisation of the Nepali Army, he warned that it would be disastrous if the Maoist combatants were forced to surrender.
“Our protest is not against individuals Ram Baran Yadav or Rookmangud Katawal, but against the tendencies of the institutions they represent,” he said, adding that the 22 parties had instigated the ceremonial President to take an ‘unconstitutional step’. Anyone believing in the supremacy of the CA and the people should not bar the resolution motion against the President’s move from being discussed in the CA, he opined.
