PM a hurdle to govt formation, says Yadav
Rajbiraj, July 8:
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was obstructing the formation of a new government and election of the President, according to Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Prasad Yadav.
Speaking at a meeting of party cadres in Rajbiraj today, Yadav said Koirala was desperate to become the first President by any means and that he was instigating different power centres to create instability in the country.
Only the Maoist-led government would bring stability in the country, he maintained, adding that the political parties should realise that the CPN-Maoist is the single largest party in the CA.
Non-cooperation from the officials in the forest ministry was affecting his efforts to wipe out the rampant corruption in the ministry, according to Yadav.
Replying to a query on the uncontrolled export of crushed stone, gravel and sand from different parts of Tarai, he said lack of coordination among the departments were responsible for this.
The money-making attitude of the Local Development Officer to award the contract for mining has put the forest ministry helpless, he added. "Efforts to stop mining activities in the forests failed," he said.
