SURKHET, NOVEMBER 15

Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has asserted that the upcoming parliamentary elections would witness competition between the democratic-leftist coalition and pro-monarchy alliance candidates.

Addressing a mass assembly organised by democratic-leftist Alliance at Dullu in Dailkeh district today, PM Deuba confidently predicted victory for the democratic-leftist Alliance in the November 20 twin elections.

Claiming that the mandate would favour the four-party alliance of the ruling coalition partners, Deuba warned, "There will always be coalition against those attempting to jeopardise the constitution by dissolving the Parliament."

The head of the government urged all party cadres and leaders to elect coalition candidates with overwhelming majority. He maintained that the current coalition was formed to defend the constitution and prevent regression.

Pledging to accord high priority to Dailekh in terms of development, the septuagenarian leader vowed to deliver on conservation and development for historically and archaeologically important places.

Also speaking at the programme, CPN-Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal shared that the democratic-leftist coalition would continue even after elections to safeguard the constitution.

Dahal clarified that the coalition was not for election, but for protecting the constitution and protecting the rights of people. Dahal argued that the upcoming election was not like earlier elections, it was a battle between forces trying to defend the constitution and those trying to attack it.

Considering the current scenario, the septuagenarian leader claimed victory for the coalition that stood for peace and the constitution. He also promised to take development and promotion of tourism sector in Dullu seriously.
