KATHMANDU, APRIL 2

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal emphasized that the current government is deeply committed to fostering good governance, social justice, and prosperity in alignment with the people's aspirations.

He made these remarks during an interaction on "Socialism with Nepali Characteristics," organized by Samajbadi Morcha.

Dahal underscored the potential for rapid advancement of socialism in Nepal if socialist and nationalist factions unite. Despite inherent risks and challenges, he has endeavored to bring together nationalist leftist groups, recognizing Nepal's conducive environment for such collaboration.

Dahal stressed the imperative for unity and collaboration among nationalist, progressive, and socialist forces, noting recent initiatives to lay the groundwork for socialism and fortify Nepal's national independence.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to combat corruption, misuse of public assets, and smuggling, asserting that the government has pushed forward the agenda of good governance, social justice, and prosperity amid myriad challenges.

Emphasizing the importance of connecting with the populace, Dahal contended that parties derive strength from their ability to engage with the people effectively. He advocated for maximal utilization of governmental institutions, legislative bodies, and grassroots activism to propel Nepal towards socialism.

Dahal noted the formation of a new power dynamic following the dissolution of the previous alliance, which failed to align with popular aspirations and establish a foundation for socialism.
