KATHMANDU, MAY 27

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal have confirmed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's official visit to India from May 31-June 03.

In a press release issued by MEA today, it stated " H.E. Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Prime Minister of Nepal will be on an official visit to India from 31 May 2023 to 03 June 2023 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This will be the first bilateral visit abroad by the Prime Minister of Nepal after assuming office in December 2022."

As per the media release by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Prime Minister of Nepal will meet with the President and Vice-President and engage in extensive discussions with Prime Minister Modi during his visit, focusing on various aspects of the bilateral partnership between India and Nepal. Additionally, other distinguished Indian dignitaries will also have meetings with the Prime Minister of Nepal.

Alongside official commitments, the Prime Minister of Nepal will also be visiting Ujjain and Indore as part of his itinerary, MEA notified.

MEA sees this visit to uphold the longstanding tradition of regular high-level exchanges between India and Nepal, in line with India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy.

According to Nepal's southern neighbour India, over the past few years, bilateral relations between the two countries have significantly strengthened across various areas of cooperation. India also ascertained that this visit will underscore the mutual emphasis placed on enhancing the momentum of the bilateral partnership.

Similarly, on Saturday Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal too has publicized a press release officially verifying PM Dahal's 'Prachand's' visit to India.

"The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal," reads the press release. "The entourage of the Prime Minister will comprise ministers, secretaries, and senior officials of the Government of Nepal."
