Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and congratulated him on winning the vote of confidence in the parliament.

"We will work together to further enhance the wide-ranging cooperation between India and Nepal, including in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic", said Modi.

Likewise, PM Deuba also shared details of the conversation on his social media timeline.

In another tweet yesterday, Modi extended a congratulatory message to PM Deuba with best wishes for his successful tenure. "I look forward to working with you to further enhance our unique partnership in all sectors, and strengthen our deep-rooted people-to-people ties," wrote Modi.

On Sunday, PM Sher Bahadur Deuba won the vote of confidence with 165 of the 249 lawmakers present in the 275-member House of Representatives voting in his favour, including 23 UML lawmakers.

Deuba was appointed the PM on July 13 following the Supreme Court's verdict.
