Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will fly to India on a three-day official visit on April 1, 2022.

Deuba is visiting India at the request of his Indian counterpart, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PM will be accompanied by his spouse Arzu Rana Deuba.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the Prime Minister's entourage will include Foreign minister Dr Narayan Khadka, as well as other senior Ministers, Secretaries, and officials.

The visit will further strengthen the multifaceted, age-old, and cordial ties between Nepal and India, the statement added.

During the visit, PM Deuba is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India.

PM Deuba will hold delegation-level talks with Indian PM Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House, on 2 April 2022.

Indian PM Modi will also host a Luncheon in honour of the Prime Minister of Nepal and the delegation.

Similarly, Indian External Affairs Minister and National Security Advisor are scheduled to call on the Prime Minister of Nepal.

"The Prime Minister will use the opportunity of his visit to address a gathering of business leaders in New Delhi," MoFA said.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit Varanasi before returning to Kathmandu on 3 April 2022.

Meanwhile, India's Ministry of External Affairs in a statement, said, "India and Nepal enjoy age-old and special ties of friendship and cooperation. In recent years, the partnership has witnessed significant growth in all areas of cooperation. The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review this wide ranging cooperative partnership and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples."
