KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 26

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed stakeholders to promptly release dues owed to farmers for milk purchases.

The PM issued the directive during a meeting on Monday at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, where he summoned Minister for Finance Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Dr. Beduram Bhusal, and Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal.

According to the PM's Secretariat, the Prime Minister has instructed that payments owed to farmers from the private sector be made immediately, emphasizing the need for swift action if payments have not been made.

"What is the reason for the delayed payments to farmers over several months? This issue must be taken seriously. Facilitate immediate payment to farmers from the private sector," the PM directed the ministers.
