PM graces PU convocation

LEKHNATH: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who is also the chancellor of the Pokhara University today conferred award to graduates amidst convocation ceremony of the university at Dhungepatan in Lekhnath Municipality. On the occasion, 1053 graduates representing various faculties and levels were felicitated. Among the graduates, 126 have made to the Dean's list.

According to the provision of Pokhara University, those securing CGPA 3.79 and above are incorporated in the list. Shikshit Bhattrai received Laxmi gold medal and chancellor's medal while Binita Sharma was conferred with vice-chancellor's medal.

Addressing the ceremony, the PM said that Nepal was facing problem of unemployment as existing education system was not focused on life and productivity.

Stating that no skilled manpower could be produced without improving the education system, the PM urged all to make endeavours from their sides for quality education. Meanwhile, vice-chancellor of the university Dr Kesharjung Baral claimed that though the university was a bit expensive for the public, the education quality was of highest standard.
