PM meets Bhutanese counterpart
Kathmandu, September 25:
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ met world leaders on the sideline of the UN General Assembly in New York and discussed the matters related to mutual cooperation today as well.
According to the Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the UN, Prachanda met Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa and Turkish President Abdullah Gul. He also met Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y Thinley and Norwegian Minister for International Development Erik Solheim. Prachanda apprised them of the ongoing peace process and political transformation in Nepal.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Prachanda received a phone call from former US President Jimmy Carter and dwelt on the recent political development in Nepal, according to the Permanent Mission.
Yesterday, Prachanda, addressing an interaction on ‘’The New Nepal: Challenges for Ensuring Peace and Democracy’’ organised by the Asia Society in the US, had said his main aims were to frame an inclusive statute, bring social transformation and bring the peace process to a logical end.
He had also appealed to the international community to assist in Nepal’s peace process.
