PM Oli attends reception hosted by UN Secretary-General
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli attended the reception hosted by the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the UN Headquarters here on Tuesday (as per US time).
The UN Secretary-General organised the reception in honour of the heads of states/governments and their delegates who have arrived in New York to participate in the 73rd United Nations General Assembly.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Rimal, Nepal’s Ambassador to the United States of America Arjun Kumar Karki, Chargé d’affaires of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations Nirmal Raj Kafle, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Spokesperson and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bharat Raj Poudel, Chief of Protocol Deepak Adhikari, and other senior officials of the Government of Nepal were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the main debate of the UNGA 73 has begun on Tuesday. Prime Minister will deliver his statement to the UNGA on September 27.
The theme of the general debate is 'Making the United Nations Relevant to All People: Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and Sustainable Societies'.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by his spouse Radhika Shakya.
