PM Oli meets Indian counterpart Modi

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on a six-day visit to India, met his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Saturday.

During the meeting at Hyderabad House, the duo discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

The two Prime Ministers are addressing a joint press conference in New Delhi after the meeting.

'India never had disagreement over Nepal Constitution'

Informing about the difficulties faced by the people and country after the promulgation of Constitution last year, Prime Minister Oli told Modi that he was for moving ahead by strengthening relationship between Nepal and India, according to journalist Rishi Dhamala, who is currently in New Delhi.

He futher informed the Indian Prime Minister that a political mechanism had already been formed to resolve the issue of demarcation of provincial boundaries.

PM Oli said that the government was committed to bring the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front in the mechanism.

In response, Modi said that India did not have any disagreement over the Constitution of Nepal.

He said that India just wanted that the Constitution addressed the demands of all the people.

Before the meeting, PM Oli received a guard of honour as a part of  ceremonial welcome at the Rastrapati Bhawan in the Capital.

Indian Prime Minister Modi had welcomed PM Oli to the programme.

PM Oli is scheduled to meet Indian President Pranab Mukherjee at 7 pm today.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister laid a wreath on the Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat this morning.

After the person-to-person meeting for around 40 minutes between the two Prime Ministers, delegations led by them held a joint meeting at the same venue.

PM Oli meets Sushma Swaraj

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held a meeting with India's Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj at the Rastrapati Bhavan.

On the occasion, the duo exchanged views on the Nepal's post- earthquake reconstruction drive and assistance being provided by India to Nepal in various sectors.

The meeting also touched on the matters relating to bilateral relations and mutual interest among others.
